Workshop Overview

The Centre’s Training and Education platform offers a continuum of learning opportunities to help nonprofit and donor (corporate and individual) participants develop their capacity by targeting all skill levels and covering specific best practice areas.

A comprehensive curriculum of workshops and teleconferences is being continuously updated to ensure that participants at all stages of development consistently obtain the knowledge and relevant practice skills to improve their performance. This is by means of a curriculum that follows a progressive learning track. Learning modules are based on best practices and standards, and a network of partners is identified to deliver information.

Public accountability also requires a high degree of accuracy and reliability of financial data. The financial statements of a nonprofit organisation provide a useful overview of the organisation’s fiscal health.

The “public interest” may include any of the following: client population, workers, volunteers, members, funding agencies, and the general public.

Fundraising

Nonprofit fundraising is a key factor for nonprofit success. Raise money and you'll fuel nonprofit growth. Fail to raise money and it may be the end of your nonprofit. Even though a nonprofit organisation's primary mission isn't profit-based, it still needs to acquire financial resources in order to survive. The way nonprofits earn income is through fundraising. However, fundraising isn't nearly as one-dimensional as it sounds. There are many avenues of fundraising that can potentially bring in the financial resources your organisation needs to accomplish its purpose. Your job is to narrow the list of choices down to the ones that are the most productive and the best fit for your organisation.
