Pamela Barit Nolan joined The Centre on Philanthropy as Executive Director in November 2005. Prior to joining The Centre Pam worked for over 20 years in the financial services sector. In 2003 Pam and her husband Gil left their jobs seeking more purpose and meaning for their lives. They traveled for over 18 months reconnecting with old friends and making many new ones. During this period Pam decided that she wanted to find a way to give back to the community in some significant way. Her search to achieve this goal led to The Centre and back home to Bermuda after 20 years.
Favourite Quote: "Once we acknowledge both the prospect of our own death and the promise that life holds, we gain our greatest power: the ability to use our lives to say something important, however small or large we may think it is. Our actions, our contributions, or just showing up in our own way, can send a message that means something to others and even to ourselves." Jim Lord, What Kind of World do you Want.
Deborah Lambert joined The Centre in January 1997 as our Operations Manager. Prior to joining, she was employed at an exempt management company as a Network and Account Manager.
Since The Centre had been without a Manager for over a year, Deborah had the task of reorganizing the day to day operations - not a trivial challenge! Since then she has built an incredible amount of knowledge about charities in Bermuda and acts as our go to help desk. Her expertise and hard work have brought our operations up to date and her organizational ability keeps things running smoothly.

After obtaining her bachelors degree from the University of Newcastle, and her Masters degree from the University of Durham, both in the UK, Alex started her career as a geotechnical engineer in coal mining in the North of England. Alex's 12 years in engineering equipped her with project management skills which she used to transition into the non profit sector, initially promoting engineering to 16-18 year olds with the Royal Academy of Engineering, and latterly assisting graduate engineers through professional qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Alex moved to Bermuda in March 2006 and immediately began volunteering with Friends of Hospice, the International Women’s Club, Bermuda International Film Festival, Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society, The Centre on Philanthropy and Girl Guides, setting up a new Guide unit in Hamilton in October 2006. Working temporarily with the Centre on Philanthropy in late 2006, she helped to establish the Bermuda Volunteer Centre, and is now pleased to be back with The Centre on Philanthropy team, as the BVC Coordinator. In this role, Alex works with non profits, schools and individuals across Bermuda to promote the one stop web based approach to more effective and greater volunteering.
