Father Paul Voisin was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on August 14, 1951. After having received his primary and secondary school education in Kitchener-Waterloo, he entered the Congregation of the Resurrection, a Roman Catholic religious community of priests, deacons and brothers.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo, he pursued a Masters of Divinity degree at the University of Western Ontario (St. Peter’s Seminary) in London, Ontario. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 14, 1977. He was assigned as Assistant Pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Kitchener, and then St. Pius X Parish, Brantford, each for three years.
From August 1983 until April 1996 Father Paul served in the Resurrectionist Mission in Bolivia. There he was Assistant Pastor at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in La Paz for two years. Then he served for three years in Cochabamba where he was Rector of Students for Resurrectionist seminarians, and as Pastor of a rural Parish, of Our Lady of the Snows in Santivanez. Upon returning to La Paz he was Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, as well as serving for five years as General Director of St. Andrew’s School in La Paz.
Returning to Canada in 1996 Father Paul enjoyed a sabbatical year of studies at Regis College of the University of Toronto. Upon completion of this year, he became Pastor (for three years) of Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission in Kitchener, serving the Catholic Hispanic communities of Waterloo, Wellington and Brant counties of the Diocese of Hamilton in Ontario. In November 2000 he was made Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Kitchener. On March 1, 2005 he became Provincial Superior of the Ontario-Kentucky Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection.
Since August 2008 he has been Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish in Bermuda, and is Vicar General of the Diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda, and in charge of Ministry to Children in the Diocese.
