Elaine Williams, Director

Elaine Williams has been the Executive Director of The Women’s Resource Centre since July 2009. Elaine is passionate about the mission of empowering women.

Having a wealth of human services management experience ranging from an 18 year career at King Edward Memorial Hospital, the last 6 as Manager of the entire Diagnostic Imaging division where she managed 65 staff from diverse nations, ages, education levels and gender mix; to the development and running of a small business; to being a former Police Officer. Elaine feels that she is well prepared for the work at The Centre.
In July 2011, Elaine was selected to attend a one month intensive training certification program at The University of The West Indies, in Gender Studies (A gender analysis of the ideologies and theorizing of the relationships of men and women of the Caribbean).
A life learner, Elaine is currently working toward a certification in Women’s Leadership from a Global Perspective, with the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Her full life includes serving on the Bermuda Family Council, The Bermuda Women’s Council, and chairing the Bermuda Women’s Council sub-committee on CEDAW.
