David Lang was educated at Warwick Academy and at Rannoch School in Perthshire, Scotland. He then studied Law at the Inns of Court School of Law in London before taking up employment with the Bank of Bermuda in 1974, where he has remained ever since. He is a Vice-President and Trust Manager and has particular responsibility for Philanthropy. He heads up the Bank’s Office on Philanthropy and in particular, administers Bank of Bermuda Foundation, which is one of Bermuda’s most substantial donors.
David was a Trustee of the SummerHaven Trust for many years and is a Director of the Centre on Philanthropy. He is the immediate past Chairman of Bermuda’s Donor Forum and Chairman and a founding member of the National Standards Committee. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and is married to Pat. They have two children – Alastair, aged 26 and Katie, aged 24.
