To provide holistic support for persons with HIV and their families: spiritual, financial, physical, emotional and psychological, in a spirit of compassion and empathy. To provide accommodation for homeless HIV sufferers. To educate the community by providing information to dispel myths and fears, and to contain the spread of the virus.

Confidential compassionate counseling by experienced councellors. Personal caregivers visit home, hospital and hospice on a regular basis. Provision of housing at the Light house, which provides specifically for the needs of the person living with AIDS before they need to be hospitalized. Assistance with expenses which cannot be met by the individual of family. Help in applying for social assistance, liaison with Family Services and other government departments. Educational material about AIDS available at the STAR office. Meetings for persons living with AIDS on an --'as needed--' basis. Show Less
