Bermuda Emergency Medical Technicians Association
To promote and foster education and scientific advancement in Pre-hospital and Emergency care. To promote recognition, guidance and direction to those involved in the field. To advise on the setting and maintaining of specific standards for pre hospital and Emergancy care that is comparable to the US National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). To enhance professional standards, to promote local, national and international acceptance and recognition and to promote community awareness.
The association is unincorporated and was started in March 1990. It has two sub divisions - Basic Trauma Life Support and First Aid, each with an Assistant Administrator.
First Aid Courses (Basic, Advanced, Sports and Pediatric). Basic Trauma. Life Support (Basic, Advanced and Pediatrics). Bring in lecturers in other EMT related fields as well as sponsoring overseas trips.
